Tomáš plays out of the bebop and post-bop tradition, grounded in functional harmony and voice leading. He works regularly as an accompanist for singers, in jazz and other genres, and is equally at home in settings from duo to big band to symphony orchestra.
He also teaches. His approach is personal and built around the student, centered on Barry Harris’ harmony and the transcriptions and movements behind it, from first principles to advanced material.
