Tomáš Jochmann

About

Tomáš Jochmann is a jazz pianist, producer, and developer based in Prague. The three disciplines share one logic: an ear for structure, and the patience to build things from it. In music it is harmony and voice leading. In the studio it is the architecture of a mix. In software it is the architecture of an app.

Trained at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory and at HAMU (BcA.), he spent years at Italian jazz workshops, Tuscia in Jazz, the Barry Harris Workshop, and Ronciglione Jazz Spring, studying with Kenny Barron, Barry Harris, Aaron Parks, Dave Kikoski, Dado Moroni, and Antonio Ciacca. He has shared the stage with Kurt Rosenwinkel, Rosario Giuliani, and Justin Faulkner, and performs internationally, including across Asia with the band Colorful People.

In 2015 he established Baracca Records, his home base and independent label, and works as a producer and mixing and mastering engineer across three Prague studios. Alongside the music, he develops software for musicians, including the ear-training app Earonman.
